We recently visited Ho Chi Minh City(formerly Saigon) in Vietnam for a few days and had a fabulous time.
A sombre visit to the war museum and historical museum as well as the Saigon Skydeck during the day was followed by a late afternoon river cruise to see the sights and of course the delightful restaurants at night.
A Japanese restaurant called Yen was first cab of the rank and the food and wine were excellent. Zahara glassware was used for the red wine (as shown in the photo) and was superb of course.
The Moo Steak Bar was next and I think I can honestly say the steak was among the best I have ever had.
Ciao Bella was a beautiful little Italian restaurant we also visited and had a really lovely meal.
On the way to this restaurant we found a funky liquor store called Bacchus Corner and met the owner and staff for an
unscheduled pre-dinner drink.
Other venues we went to include Barbecue Gardens and afternoon tea at the famous Myst Hotel in Dong Khoi.
Overall it was a fascinating visit to a remarkable city, a city we plan on returning to in the near future.
